The Strathcona Cup that was recently held at KCC on Saturday, January 21, was truly a spectacular success, and a 'pure dead brilliant' event! An outstanding job performed by all; organizers, volunteers, Bob's ice crew, and curlers alike. Special mentions go to Mark Inglis for getting us involved and leading the way, from beginning to end; Larry Sheardown for putting together a mighty volunteer crew; Christine Warner for handling the logistics of the day flawlessly; and Gino DiFebo for lovingly preparing a delicious main feature for lunch - beef brisket - a 'well tidy scran'!
Special thanks to the following members and businesses for their contributions made in support of this event; Barb & Karl Davis of Green Tractors Nobleton, Dan Steenhoek of Silver Birch Contracting, Sharon Downey of Party Magic, Corrie Oukes and Tim Hortons. Thanks also to James Price for his photography of the event.
Shellee Morning’s weekly article for the King Sentinel, published on Wednesday January 25, features a great write-up of the day’s events including wins by Team Campbell and Team Davis. Please use the following link to read the full article; Strathcona Cup - Canada vs Scotland

Congratulations to all involved…..King Curling Club certainly put their best foot forward with this event and that sentiment was echoed by this Instagram post by one of the Scottish curlers, Alan Chalmers, regarding their time spent at KCC:
